my approach to portrait photography

I like to think that your children and your children's children will still treasure the portrait photographs that I have taken. This is why I try to capture my subjects with all their expressions and personality, so this will be reflected in a beautiful, honest and natural record of how they really are.

the portrait session - your choice of venue

All portrait photography sessions can take place in my outdoor studio - which is set in the ruins of an old barn and is surrounded by stone walls, creating a fascinating backdrop which constantly changes throughout the seasons. I can also take the portraits at your home or your preferred outdoor location. I believe that this is by far the best way to produce natural-looking portraits, allowing both children and adults to feel completely comfortable without being constrained by the traditional photographic studio.

In addition, there is my Loft Studio, which offers a light, airy space for contemporary and classical style portrait photographs.

the sitting - a relaxing and enjoyable experience

I will shoot a wide variety of photographs in colour and black & white, utilising alternative locations and changes of clothing if required by you, producing a stunning range of lifestyle portraits. I aim to make every portrait sitting a genuinely relaxing and enjoyable experience, even for the most lively or camera-shy amongst us!

choosing your portrait photographs

After the portrait session, I will invite you to our premises to view a beautiful slideshow of your images. I will then guide you through the editing process, advising on our range of presentation options and contemporary products, so that you end up with a wonderful selection of portraits for your home.

how to book your portrait session

I am available for portrait sessions from Tuesday to Saturday. Just call me on 01305-821432, to arrange your session and I will discuss suitable times of the day for the best light depending on your preferred location. It is also important to consider when your children are at their liveliest!

portrait gift vouchers

I am also often asked for portrait gift vouchers, so they can be given as a special present to a close friend, or family member. These are available by post, or direct from the Island Gallery, with prices starting from £85.

portrait photography - prices

Portrait photographs start from £85 (or £100 for home or location shooting), which includes the sitting fee and a choice of the following:

One 12" x 8" framed photograph and two 6" x 9" art-mounted prints or
Four art-mounted 6" x 9" prints
or part payment for any of the options below

I also do multiple image portrait photographs, starting from:

12" x 12" with frame - £185
16" x 16" with frame - £265
20" x 20" with frame - £395

Additional portrait prints are available, supplied in art mounts:

6" x 9" - £20
8" x 12" - £30
11" x 14" - £68
12" x 18" - £95
16" x 24" - £135
